Unlicensed generation and the 1 MW threshold

In Türkiye, solar plants connected to the distribution grid can be built without a generation licence.

In practice this regime caps a single connection point at 1 MW; where the installation is built around self-consumption, the limit follows the facility's contracted connection capacity instead. The ceiling makes an investor's life considerably simpler: you go straight to a connection agreement instead of a licence application and a tender, and the road from there to provisional acceptance stays predictable. That is why the market, and our portfolio with it, is concentrated in this class.

Payback

How quickly a solar plant pays for itself depends on the region, its irradiation data and how the investment is financed.

For equity-funded plants the typical range is five to eight years, and it shifts from site to site. We calculate the range from your own site's irradiation data and grid connection conditions.

Is the land suitable?

The right site is half the project.

Zoning status, slope, orientation, distance to the nearest substation and the connection capacity still available in the region decide both whether the project can be built and what it will cost. We run a first assessment from the title deed and coordinates before anyone visits the site, so your time and money go to a site that will actually get built.

One contract, one point of contact

Engineering, procurement and site work stay in one pair of hands.

Mounting structure, module installation, DC and AC works, transformer and grid connection: everything on site is our responsibility. The investor tracks one schedule and calls one number.

After the plant starts generating

The real work starts at commissioning.

Remote monitoring with a response to any fault within 24 hours, quarterly preventive maintenance and regular performance reporting are the standard scope of our operations and maintenance service.

How a ground-mount project runs

    Site selection

    Assessing the parcel for zoning, slope, orientation and distance to the substation, and checking the connection capacity available in the region.

  2. 02

    Feasibility

    A feasibility report covering generation modelled on irradiation data, investment cost and payback analysis.

  3. 03

    Design

    Electrical and structural design, equipment selection, site layout and single-line diagrams.

  4. 04

    TEDAŞ approval

    Submitting the project file to the authority, answering any revisions requested and obtaining the approval letter.

  5. 05

    Construction

    Site preparation, mounting structure, module installation, DC and AC works and the transformer connection.

  6. 06

    Provisional acceptance

    Testing, the distribution company's acceptance process and bringing the plant into generation.

  7. 07

    Operations and maintenance

    Remote monitoring, preventive maintenance and performance reporting to keep generation continuous.

The ground-mount record

The 151 ground-mount plants we have commissioned total 139.7 MW of installed capacity.

The largest is SASKİ Karaman GES at 5 MW. Every one appears in the reference list with its name, province and installed capacity.
